Images of William Paterson University’s past and visions of its future will converge during 2005, when the University celebrates another major milestone — its 150th anniversary as an institution of higher learning in New Jersey.

 
 
From its founding in 1855 as the Paterson City Normal School to improvethe in-service training of teachers, to its role today as a comprehensive regional public university, William Paterson University has remained committed to providing opportunities for learning that resonate throughout the lives of the institution’s more than 57,000 alumni.

Throughout 2005, the University will celebrate its sesquicentennial with numerous events, from lectures and concerts to exhibits and special gatherings. Visit the site often to learn how alumni, staff, current and former students, neighbors, and friends of the University can participate.
