PROMOTIONS

NO LATER THAN

 

November 1, 2007*

Candidates submit applications to the Department Committee.

November 20, 2007*

The Department Committee submits recommendations and supporting materials to the University Promotion Committee (Provost and Senior Vice President’s office.)

November 26, 2007*

The department committee sends written notification to each person it has decided to recommend for promotion. Persons who have not been recommended for promotion are also notified.

December 7, 2007*

Persons not recommended for promotion may appeal to the University Promotion Committee.

February 1, 2008*

The University Promotion Committee submits final recommendations to the President.

March 15, 2008*

The President notifies candidates of Board of Trustees decision.

Note: When a contractual or legal deadline falls on a weekend or holiday the deadline is the following business day.

 

SABBATICALS

Faculty and Librarians

Candidates must submit applications to the Sabbatical Committee (Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President) no later than February 1, 2008 (per contract)*.

Sabbatical Committee must submit recommendations to the Provost and Senior Vice President by March 1, 2008 (per contract)*.

 

PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT LEAVES

Candidates must submit applications to President no later than February 1, 2008.

 

CAREER DEVELOPMENT/TUITION REIMBURSEMENT

Candidates must submit applications and proposals for Fall 2007, Spring 2008, and Summer 2008 (July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008) by March 1, 2008 (per contract)*.

The final DAC report must be forwarded to the College Dean with a copy to the individual faculty member by May 10, 2008. The faculty member may forward to the College Dean a written response to the DAC report which may include materials submitted to the DAC. Such responses must be attached to the DAC report.

 

EMERITUS NOMINATION

Nominations for Professor Emeritus must be forwarded to the chairperson of the Governance Council no later than the second Friday of March (March 14, 2008).
