PROFESSIONAL STAFF REAPPOINTMENT CALENDAR
THIRD, FOURTH AND FIFTH YEAR REAPPOINTMENTS
NOTIFICATION DATE FOR NON-REAPPOINMENT: DECEMBER 15, 2008

NO LATER THAN

 

September 17, 2008

Completion of candidate interviews by immediate supervisor, receipt of responses from candidates, if any, and completion of summary evaluations by immediate supervisor. Employees up for 5th year reappointment must also submit the following: completion of candidate's written self evaluation and identification of employees in a continuous functional working relationship with the candidate. Submission of recommendations to appropriate Dean or Director.

September 24, 2008

Completion of review of reappointment folders by appropriate Dean or Director and submission to appropriate Vice President.

October 8, 2008

Submission of recommendations to the Provost and Senior Vice President by appropriate Vice President.

October 22, 2008

Submission of recommendations to President by Provost and Senior Vice President.

November 3, 2008

President notifies candidates for reappointment of his retention recommendations to Board of Trustees.

November 10, 2008

Last day for appellants to request personal interview with President.

November 24, 2008

President notifies appellants of outcome of appeal.

December 1, 2008

Last day for appellants to submit in writing to Board of Trustees new evidence or information or argumentation to support claim of inadequate consideration.

December 15, 2008

Last date (per Union Agreement) for notification of non-reappointment to professional staff in the third, fourth, and fifth years of service.

A candidate who has received a negative recommendation from a supervisor may request an interview with the next level supervisor to address the record.

Note: When a contractual or legal deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline becomes the following business day.
