Prescription Drug Program

The Prescription Drug Program helps defray the cost of drugs prescribed for you and your eligible dependents. Covered are those drugs which, as required by Federal Law, can be dispensed only upon a written prescription order by a doctor.

There is a copayment for each prescription dispensed at a pharmacy. Employees and covered dependents who are taking prescription medication on an ongoing basis may use the prescription drug mail order program. This program provides medication by mail for a maximum of 90 day supply with copayment. Full time employees contribute 1.5% of their base salary toward the cost of their health benefits and/or prescription drug coverage* Additional information is also available from the links below:

* Not applicable to employees represented by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) or the Police Benevolent Association (PBA). These employees should consult their current union agreement for SHBP contribution rates.
