PSYCHOLOGICAL MURDER MYSTERY, “AGNES OF GOD,” ON STAGE
AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY OCTOBER 22 TO 30
“Agnes of God,” John Pielmeier’s popular and thought-provoking
drama, will be presented at William Paterson University’s
Hunziker Black Box Theatre in Wayne from October 22 to 30.
The cast is comprised of two William Paterson University students
and a guest artist. Stephanie Templin of Netcong, a junior majoring
in English, will play “Agnes,” and Sue Weinberger of
Mahwah, a senior majoring in communication will portray “Dr.
Livingstone.” Bernadette Oberdorf, a guest artist from Kearny,
will play the “Mother Superior.” The production is directed
by Phillip Sprayberry, a guest director from Clifton.
“Agnes of God” concerns the death of a newborn baby
found in a convent wastebasket. A young nun is accused of the murder
and the Mother Superior tries to negotiate the psychological inquiry
that follows. The suspenseful tale reveals the unraveling of three
strong women in their quest for faith, hope and charity.
Show times for “Agnes of God” are 8 p.m. on October
22, 27, 28, and 30; and 6 p.m. on October 24. Tickets are $10, $7
