WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY 1855-2005: CELEBRATING 150 YEARS
Passaic County Historian Presents Lecture on the Founding of William Paterson University
Edward Smyk, the Passaic County historian, will present a lecture titled “The Men and Women Who Helped Create William Paterson University” on Thursday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martini Teleconference Center in Hobart Hall. The event is sponsored by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and is part of the University’s celebration of its 150th anniversary during 2005.
Smyk is the author of Historic Passaic County: An Illustrated History. A trustee of the Passaic County Historical Society, Smyk has been affiliated with the Society since 1962. In 1987, he was presented with the New Jersey Local Historians’ Award of Distinction by the New Jersey Historical Commission, the New Jersey Historical Society, and the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey.
