Mission Statement

William Paterson University must comply with the Laws of the State of New Jersey pertaining to recycling. The State has mandated a reduction on solid waste landfills. In order to accomplish this, the recycling of materials must be increased so that the solid waste that is currently being transported to landfills can be decreased. We can make a difference by setting the example of how to reduce solid waste and increase recycling materials by demonstrating that it makes sense to recycle. It can help reduce the garbage costs of the University. These savings can be utilized to fund other activities or maintain operation costs.

Recycling is a multi-level program that not only changes the way we do business and dispose of our solid waste, but also changes the way we think. We now have to make a conscious effort in separating recyclable items before we dispose of them.
