The Department of Languages and Cultures offers Bilingual and ESL Endorsement Certification Programs, which are approved by The New Jersey Department of Education. The program courses are based on various areas of linguistics, cultural studies, teaching methodology and more.

The Program, in conjunction with the College of Education, also offers courses leading to a Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in Bilingual/ ESL. Most of the credits for ESL and/or Bilingual Certification can be applied to the Master's Degree Program.

Credit requirements for single and multiple programs:

1. Bilingual certification only: 18 credits
2. ESL Certification only: 21 credits
3. Master's of Education only: 33 credits
*4. Bilingual certification + ESL certification: 33 credits
*5. Bilingual certification + M.Ed: 36 credits
*6. ESL certification + M.Ed: 36 credits
*7. Bilingual certification + ESL certification +M.Ed: 42 credits
Some courses are applied more than once.

* Acceptance to each program requires a separate application.
