Experience:

William Paterson University
Department of Psychology

July 1980 to Present

Professor
Primary responsibility has been the teaching of courses in the following areas: general psychology; experimental psychology I (statistics); experimental psychology II (laboratory); developmental psychology; psychology of learning; children's learning; physiological psychology(biopsychology), and the history and systems of psychology.

Established the Human Learning and Cognition Laboratory in 1980 that is currently engaged in experimental research into the following areas: cosmological psychology, human inductive concept formation, human random number generation, human temporal behaviors, human learning and reaction times, classical conditioning of word meanings, classical conditioning of reading responses, human knowledge-of-results in time-estimation-behavior.

Served as the Chair of the Psychology Department charged with "...the supervision of all matters related to the department..." (University Regulations)

Rutgers University
Graduate School of Education

July 1971 to July 1980

Assistant Professor

Taught a wide range of courses consistent with my general interests in human learning, cognition and development. Published work that concentrated upon the educational applications of human experimental psychology (See pages 4 to 7 for papers published from 1971 to 1980).

City College of New York
Department of Psychology

July 1967 to July 1971

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Taught general psychology with stress upon experimental, developmental, cognitive and physiological aspects of modern psychology.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Department of Psychiatry
Research Division

July 1970 to July 1973

Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship

Engaged in the longitudinal study of children's cognitive development with emphasis on social class differences, mother-child interactions, psycholinguistic development, attentional processes, persistence at tasks and delay capacity (See publications on pages 4 to 7).

New York Institute of Technology
Department of Behavioral Sciences

July 1969 to July 1970

Assistant Professor

Taught the following courses: experimental psychology; psychological statistics; psychological tests and measurements; and general, introductory psychology.

New York Medical College

Research Assistant

Conducted experiments dealing with a series of highly complex discrimination-learning tasks in the cat. Performed surgical operations to implant electrodes in the living cat brain in order to study the neural correlates of learning.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Department of Pediatrics

September 1965 to May 1968

Research Assistant

Assisted in a research group studying aspects of the perceptual organization of brain-damaged patients with the overall research strategy of using such data to reveal sensory/perceptual aspects of normal cognitive development.

New York City Board of Education

October 1962 to September 1965

Teacher

Taught one year fifth grade in an elementary school and two years of mathematics in a junior high school in predominantly Hispanic areas of New York City.
