The psychology faculty includes twenty dedicated professionals
who adhere to the highest standards of teaching, scholarship, and
professional practice. The faculty include experts in clinical,
social, organizational, personality, physiological, cognitive, experimental,
and political psychology. William Paterson University psychology
professors are accomplished researchers and scholars, having published
in several respected professional journals.
The William Paterson University psychology faculty show a deep
commitment to teaching. High student ratings have always been a
requirement for tenure, and many faculty members reach out to students
through a wide range of programs and projects. Professors are deeply
gratified by the large percentage of our students who continue their
studies in graduate programs.
Among the many books published by members of the psychology
faculty are:
What Was Freud Thinking? (Silverstein, 2003)
"This compact, easily read book is an extraordinary gift to
absolutely anyone interested in Freud's work" - Lawrence
Friedman, M.D., Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Weill
Medical College, Cornell University.
Children of the Dark Ghetto: A Developmental Psychology
