Inside the Hottest Rivalry in Sports.
With spring training around the corner, general managers Brian
Cashman of the New York Yankees and Theo
Epstein of the Boston
Red Sox, archrivals as well as friends, provide a rare opportunity
for an audience to hear their insights as successful and young
baseball executives. They’ll talk about the challenges of
building a championship team and the pressure to win in a rivalry
that began almost a century ago. The conversation will be moderated
by Kevin Burkhardt, Mets field reporter for SportsNet
NY (SNY) and an alumnus of William Paterson University.
 |
| Brian Cashman |
At age 31, the Yankees’s Cashman became
the youngest GM ever to win a World Series, and the only one ever
to do so in each of his first three seasons.
 |
| Theo Epstein |
In 2002, the Red Sox made Epstein at age 28 the
youngest GM in major league history. In 2004, he engineered Boston’s
first World Series championship in 86 years. |
