Expedited Admissions Offered for Students Affected by Hurricane Katrina William Paterson is accepting applications for expedited admissions of New Jersey residents who were displaced as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Two students who were displaced from colleges in the Gulf Coast area have already enrolled as visiting students, while several others have made inquiries .
Judy George, founder and CEO of Domain Home Fashions, will be the keynote speaker.at a women’s leadership conference to be held at William Paterson University on Tuesday, September 20.
Comedy, jazz, art, forensics and nursing were just a few of the topics of summer camps and workshops held at William Paterson during July and August. Students received intensive, hands-on learning from faculty and other expert instructors. |
President Arnold Speert’s address to the University community and the Convocation to welcome new students were among the activities as William Paterson held its ninth annual University Day celebration on September 6, the first day of the fall 2005 semester.

Rather Opens William Paterson University’s Distinguished
Lecturer Series on October 14
September 15 William Paterson University will observe Constitution Day on Thursday, September 15 with a lecture by award-winning author and Professor Corey Robin titled “Freedom, Fear and the U.S. Constitution.” The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 3:30 p.m. in Shea Center on campus. The program also will include a commemoration of William Paterson’s role as a signer of the Constitution in 1787.
William Paterson University in Wayne will celebrate Homecoming 2005 on Saturday, October 8. Alumni and members of the local community are invited to participate in a variety of events hosted by the William Paterson University Alumni Association. |

Football Team Posts First Win The Pioneer Football Team won its first game under new head coach Mike Miello when it defeated Wilkes University, 21-17, on September 3 at Wightman Stadium. Other teams in action include men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, women’s tennis, volleyball, and men’s and women’s cross country. |
