Hobart Manor Recital Series Continues on February 3 The Hobart Manor Recital Series continues with a performance
by the Friends and Enemies of New Music on Sunday, February 5 at 5:00
p.m. in historic Hobart Manor located on the campus of William Paterson
University in Wayne. A post-performance wine and cheese reception, included
in the $35 ticket, begins at 6:00 p.m.; tickets for the recital only
are $20. |
William Paterson University in Wayne will celebrate its mid-year commencement on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rec Center on campus. In the event of severe inclement weather, the ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. Graduating seniors, their families, faculty and staff are invited to attend the Senior Send-Off reception on Friday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rec Center. The event, held prior to the University’s mid-year commencement, offers the campus community an opportunity to bid farewell to our graduates and welcome them to their new position as alumni. Hosted by the Young Alumni Chapter of the University’s Alumni Association, the evening will include a cocktail dinner, a champagne toast, and live entertainment. If you plan to attend, please call the Alumni Relations Office at 973-720-2175. William Paterson University to Observe African Heritage Month in February A range of lectures and other
events are part of William Paterson University’s observance of
African Heritage Month to be held in February. This year’s theme
is “Connecting…Past, Present and Future.”
Three new exhibits will be on view in the Ben Shahn Galleries from January 30, 2006 through March 3, 2006. The Court Gallery will feature “In Search of Duende,” a solo exhibit of paintings by Sheba Sharrow. “Prints and Drawings” by Rene Bord, a French artist who explores themes of nature and the cosmos, will be on view in the East Gallery. The South Gallery will hold paintings by David Krivin (1895-1982), a Polish immigrant and self-taught New Jersey artist. (Note: Krivin was the father of Martin Krivin, William Paterson professor emeritus, music, who retired in 1992 after 32 years of service.) Gallery hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. |

Junior outside linebacker Shadee Davis (Somerset, NJ/North Brunswick) was named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-East Region first team and senior strong safety Andy Howell (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Blue Mountain) earned a spot on the third team.
