There is also a service called National
Student Loan Clearinghouse where students can research who owns their
loans (over the years) and who to call if you need help. There is also
additional help Deptartment of Education at their Direct
Loan Servicer and Loan
Consolidation websites. Remember WPUNJ does not own your loans nor
has administrative control over them.
For the Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling
Note: Federal guidelines stipulate that all first time borrowers at William
Paterson must attend an Entrance Counseling (regardless if you have done
so before at a previous school). Your loan *can not and will not* be disbursed
until you complete an Online
Entrance Counseling.
For the Stafford Loan Exit Counseling
As a recipient of a Stafford Loan, Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans,
you are mandated by Federal Law to complete Exit Counseling prior to graduation/withdrawal
from William Paterson University of New Jersey. There are two different
Stafford Loan Exit Counseling.
During the Exit Counseling you will be requested to
complete an Exit Interview Personal Data Form. This document must be completed
and signed in order to complete this requirement. Please bring the following
information with you:
- Social Security Card.
- Driver's License Number.
- Names of two (2) references with different U.S addresses.
Include their street number and name, as well as their telephone number.
- The name, address and telephone number of your future
employer, if applicable.
PLEASE NOTE: Your transcripts and diploma WILL NOT BE
RELEASED, if you do not comply with this federal regulation.
