Summer 2012 Application

To be considered for summer financial aid, you must meet the following criteria:

Have a processed 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file in the Financial Aid Office by June 25, 2012 as summer aid will be based on your 2011-2012 FAFSA. If you have not already completed a 2011-2012 FAFSA, you may do so at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

Be enrolled half time for at least six (6) credits (for undergraduate students) or at least five (5) credits (for graduate students) by June 25, 2012. All students must maintain half time attendance to qualify for federal student loans.

Be making financial aid satisfactory academic progress.

Be enrolled in a matriculated program at William Paterson University.

Have not exhausted funding eligibility for student loans and/or Pell Grant during the 2011-2012 Award Year.

Complete the online 2012 Summer Financial Aid Application (see link below).

Pell eligible students who are registered for summer classes do not need to complete a summer application since the Financial Aid Office will be reviewing their Pell eligibility automatically.

Visiting students must contact their home institution to obtain summer aid.

Visiting students who have been admitted to WPU for the Fall 2012 semester, non-degree, less than half-time or those who have exhausted their federal aid may consider applying for an alternative student loan by clicking on Alternative Student Loans. However, please be advised that the NJCLASS private loan program requires a completed FAFSA among several other requirements. Alternative loans must be approved by June 25, 2012. These loans require a credit check and may take the lender up to 3 weeks to render a decision.

Students do not need to submit a Summer Financial Aid application to obtain an alternative loan.
