Please read the information below and fill out the Software Request Form.

  1. Requestor reads information and fills out request form.
  2. Information Systems requests any missing information from requestor and may contact the vendor to verify licensing and support information.
  3. Information Systems requests license, documentation and media.
  4. Information Systems installs the software in a test environment and once tested installs in a production lab.
  5. The requestor is asked to verify that the software is working properly. Only an end-user that knows the program can truly test it.

The requestor informs Information Systems that all is working and Information Systems enables the software for general use according to the license agreement. In some cases this is a global change that can be implemented quickly, other times it will require some time and effort by a support staff member.

Software purchased either by an instructor, a department, or Information Systems must be legally licensed. The software license must cover the intended maximum number of simultaneous users or maximum number of PC’s it will be installed on, depending on the license agreement. Installation and use of the product must abide by the publisher’s software license. Information Systems requires original software, documentation and proof of license for each workstation.

After the software is installed, it is the instructor’s responsibility to thoroughly test the software and confirm that  it functions as intended. Information Systems strongly recommends that instructors never attempt to conduct a session in front of a class without first conducting a dry run of the lesson within the actual lab environment.
