manmade or natural causes. Preparation and knowledge of basic emergency

safety personnel. |
| " |
Know and follow departmental
emergency procedures unique to your facility |
| " |
Immediately report dangerous situations
occurring in or near your facility (such as fire, explosion, storm
damage, hazardous material spills, chemical odors, flooding, accidents,
injuries, criminal or suspicious activity, etc.) to the William
Paterson University, Public Safety Department at 973-720-2301. |
| " |
Post emergency numbers and procedural checklists
near your telephone. |
| " |
Know the exit routes from your office, residence,
or other facility in the event that an evacuation becomes necessary.
| " |
Stay informed about developing emergency
conditions through the available University emergency communication
outlets. |
| " |
Keep an emergency "Go Bag" available for
your use at work or school. This bag should contain personal identification,
flashlight, AM/FM battery-powered radio, cash, state map, water
bottle, first-aid kit, whistle, comfortable walking shoes, and high-energy
