Garden State Scholarship Program – Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars and Urban Scholars / William Paterson University Distinguished Scholarships (IGSDSM)
Awards - $1,000 New Jersey State plus $1,000 matching funds from WPU
Criteria – based on high school record and SAT (critical reasoning and math)
Funding Limit - four years for entering first-year students
NOTE:
The Office of Scholarships reviews the academic performance of University scholars at the end of each semester to determine continued scholarship eligibility. Scholarship awards are automatically renewable, accordingly for four years (eight consecutive semesters) or two years (four consecutive semesters).
Satisfactory progress and pursuit toward graduation requires that a University scholar maintain: Full-time status (a minimum of 12 credits per semester) and the indicated required cumulative grade point average.
University scholars are eligible to register for up to 18 credits per semester and with special permission from the scholar’s respective academic department he/she can take above the 18 credit limit. It is the University’s expectation that scholars take advantage of this option to ensure that they graduate within the “Funding Limit”.
Scholarship funding is Not available during the summer or winter sessions and scholarships will Not be extended beyond the specified time period.
Scholarship recipients are required, annually, to apply for need-based financial aid by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Trustee Scholarships
Awards - range from $2,000 to $7,000 scholarships
Criteria - awarded to high-achieving high school students for their academic accomplishments, high school record and SAT (critical reasoning and math)
Funding Limit - four years, eight consecutive semesters of full-time study
Talent Trustee Scholarships
Awards - range from $1,000 to full-tuition scholarships
Criteria - awarded to high-achieving high school students, merit based with an emphasis on enrollment of students who demonstrate an exceptional level of potential, creative talent in their art portfolio or music audition
Funding Limit - four years, eight consecutive semesters of full-time study
*Note: enrollment in an Art or Music discipline must be maintained for renewal of the Talent Trustee Scholarships
University Honors College Scholarships
Awards - $2,000 scholarships
Criteria - awarded to high-achieving high school students, who are admitted to and enroll in the William Paterson University Honors College
Funding Limit - four years, eight consecutive semesters of full-time study
*Note: enrollment in the University Honors College must be maintained for renewal of the Honors College Scholarships
Academic Excellence Scholarships
Awards - (15) four-year $1,000 scholarships
Criteria - based on academic achievement and extracurricular activities, high school record and SAT (critical reasoning and math)
Funding Limit - four years, eight consecutive semesters
Educational Enrichment Grants
Awards - (30) four-year $1,000 scholarships
Criteria - based on academic profiles, extracurricular activities and demonstrated leadership. Preference is given to students attending New Jersey high schools in an ABBOTT school district
Funding Limit - two years, four consecutive semesters of full-time study

New Jersey Residents Attending New Jersey Community Colleges: NJSTARS
Awards - scholarships equivalent to the difference of tuition and fees minus the sum of grant and scholarship funds from which the student is eligible to receive
Criteria - awarded to NJ STARS I associate degree graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Funding Limit - two years, four consecutive semesters of full-time study
New Jersey Residents Attending New Jersey Community Colleges: Phi Theta Kappa Presidential Scholarships
Awards -(2) two-year full tuition scholarships per each New Jersey community college
Criteria - awarded to transfer students, who have earned an associate's degree from a New Jersey community college, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and are members of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society
Funding Limit - two years, four consecutive semesters of full-time study
