The Reopening Plan

William Paterson University is planning for on-campus teaching and residence life for the spring 2021 semester, which begins on January 21, 2021. The semester will include a mix of in-person, hybrid, hyflex, and online courses. The semester will not include a spring break, but will include a spring recess day on April 1. All on-campus instruction follows social distancing and face covering policies. For updates, read President Helldobler’s messages here. The University’s comprehensive plan is based on guidance and standards provided by the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) for institutions of higher education, in concert with Gov. Phil Murphy’s state reopening plan, “The Road Back: Restoring Economic Health through Public Health.” The University is following all state and federal guidance regarding best public health practices to ensure a safe and healthy work and learning environment for its students, faculty, and staff.
