This year’s exhibition features work by William Paterson Professor Anna Carina Sinocchi, who presents three works inspired by the enigmatic stone block forms of Puma Punku (Gateway of the Puma) in western Bolivia. The T-shaped motifs featured in the work of this exhibition indicate spatial awareness that lie beyond our visual perception of a known world. Sinocchi’s artwork has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and is in private and public collections alike.

William Paterson Professor Stephanie Beck presents video documentation of her work in nature. Beck uses wood and plants to create abstract sculptural “drawings” that combine organic and mechanical forms to explore our complex relationship with nature. Her work highlights line and space to invite a close and quiet contemplation of the beauty of the natural world and how our actions affect it. Beck earned an M.F.A. from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, a Post-Baccalaureate certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally, including last year, in which she presented a solo exhibition at the Wave Hill Sunroom Project Space in the Bronx.

Also on view is Ink, Press, Repeat: National Juried Printmaking and Book Arts Exhibition, which showcases a variety of print media including etching, intaglio, lithography, monoprint, screen printing, and woodcuts. The exhibition, on view through December 4, is juried by Curlee Raven Holton, an artist, master printmaker, and founding director of Raven Fine Art Editions.

The William Paterson University Galleries are wheelchair-accessible. Large-print educational materials are available. For additional information, please call the William Paterson University Galleries at 973-720-2654.
