The New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship II (NJ STARS II) is a continuation of the NJ STARS Program found at the community college. NJ STARS students who graduated from a community college with a GPA equal to or greater than 3.25 may receive an NJ STARS II award for their first and second semesters at a four-year institution. A student's eligibility for the third and fourth semesters in the STARS II program will be based on the student having achieved a 3.25 or greater cumulative GPA attained at the four year public institution at the start of the third semester of study and continue to satisfy all eligibility requirements. NJ STARS II program stipulates that students may only receive a maximum of four semesters. Family income (including taxable and untaxable) must be less than $250,000. Students must also maintain full-time status. The NJ STARS II award is based on tuition only, except for Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) recipients who will receive NJ STARS II awards based on tuition and approved fees. The amount of the NJ STARS II award will be determined after applying all other State and Federal grants and scholarships to these charges. The maximum NJ STARS II award a student may receive is $1,250 per semester. Students will be responsible for any remaining balance. NJ STARS II awards are dependent upon annual State appropriations. Eligibility Requirements: Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application (if applicable) within established state deadlines. Family income (including taxable and untaxable income) must be less than $250,000. Students must begin NJ STARS ll program participation no later than the second semester immediately following county college graduation. Students must be enrolled in a full-time course of study (minimum 12 college-level credits) each semester. Student must provide any additional requested documentation.
