The NJ World Trade Center Scholarship (WTC Scholarship) was created to aid the dependent children and surviving spouses of New Jersey residents who died as a result of terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001 or who are missing and officially presumed dead as a direct result of the attacks. Families are notified by the New Jersey Higher Education Assistance Authority (HESAA) of a family member's potential eligibility to participate in the program. Students are required to apply annually. Applicants must also provide the requested documentation to confirm their eligibility. Students must be citizens, eligible non-citizens, or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application. Recipients may attend an eligible post-secondary school in New Jersey or an out-of-state institution of higher learning. Student must be a full-time undergraduate student and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
