Hobart Society

The Hobart Society was formed as a way to recognize and thank alumni and friends of William Paterson University who have decided to leave a legacy for the University through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, gift of life insurance, charitable remainder trust, or other planned gift.

Membership

Membership in the Hobart Society is conferred when the donor notifies the William Paterson University Foundation that the University is the beneficiary of a gift through his or her estate, or through a planned gift during his or her lifetime.

Benefits

Your membership involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations. It does allow us to thank you and recognize you during your lifetime for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others.

Hobart Society Member benefits include:

  • Recognition in University publications, including WP Magazine, and on the University’s Planned Giving website;
  • Invitations to attend Distinguished Lecturer Series events as guests of the University;
  • Invitation to attend a reception for Hobart Society members;
  • Invitation to attend estate planning seminars scheduled during the year;
  • A certificate to commemorate your induction into the Hobart Society; and
  • An elegant lapel pin that can be proudly worn at various William Paterson University functions.

The most important benefit, however, you will receive from joining the Hobart Society is the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to William Paterson’s long-term prosperity.
