The WP Alumni Association sponsors special events including receptions, trips, sporting events, webinars, and networking events throughout the year. To receive notice of these events, please make sure your contact information, including email, is up-to-date.

Policy for Alumni Usage of Sports and Recreation Center, As of 11/28/23

Alumni use of the WP Sports and Recreation Center is available with the purchase of a membership.

1. Membership requires an Alumni ID Card. If you do not already have your card, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@wpunj.edu to receive your official Alumni ID card.
2. Bring your Alumni ID card along with your driver’s license or official identification document to the WP Sports and Recreation Center during normal business hours to complete an application and pay the membership fee.

*Due to the timing of fall 23 semester end, the purchase of the mid-year membership will include this month of December free. Payments will be processed on the following Thursdays November 30, December 7, 14, and 21 at the Sports and Recreation Center between 10:00 am-4:00 pm.

Annual July 1-June 30                $350

Mid-year January 1- June 30    $190

• Access will only be granted by showing your Alumni ID and official photo identification at the front desk
• Access for alumni will be for the WP Sports and Recreation Center only. The Overlook Fitness Center and Pool are not included in alumni membership, as they are designated for students only.
• Alumni access is limited to general operating hours. Please visit wpupioneers.com (click Recreation tab) to view the operating hours.
• Alumni access is for the facilities but does not include participation in student programming and events within the space
• Alumni will not have access to spaces closed for practices and events
• All lockers are day use-only, for both students and alumni

All WP alumni receive a 10% discount at the WP bookstore (with your WP alumni ID) - all year-round!

The Catholic Campus Ministry Center welcomes all alumni. It offers worship services and social, self-awareness, and spiritual programs for everyone. Adjacent to campus, the Center maintains strong ties to the University community. Contact them at dotzmana@student.wpunj.edu.

William Paterson has been a focus of the cultural scene in northern New Jersey for decades. The Distinguished Lecturer Series, Jazz Room Series, WP Presents! series, theater productions, Music Department concerts, art exhibits, and lectures are available to alumni. William Paterson's library provides a full range of services seven days a week and is open on weekdays until 11:45 p.m. Your alumni ID card will serve as your library card. The library houses more than 350,000 volumes, 1,700 periodical subscriptions, a growing collection of Web-accessible journals and books, and more than 80 electronic databases, many of which feature full-text articles and other documents. An extensive collection of films, videos, audiotapes, and CDs complement the print and electronic resources. An Electronic Resource Center provides access to a variety of computer software, the Internet, and online library resources. There is also the NEW Alumni Resources Libguide. William Paterson University offers over 60 master’s programs, 35 certificate programs both traditional face-to-face and WP Online 100% online programs and 3 doctoral programs. In addition, continuing education is available through the university's School of Continuing and Professional Education.

The University Commons, which includes the Machuga Student Center, is the heart of the campus, both geographically and socially. The main location for daily and special events, it offers a full range of services including the Paterson Food Court, Starbucks, the WP Campus Store and Marketplace, and Wayne Dining Hall. Alumni are always welcome to park in the Visitor’s Lot or Pioneer Parking Garage. Graduates attending class should register their vehicle through the Campus Police website.

In this online community, alumni can connect with each other and enjoy books related to lifelong learning, social issues, literature, psychology, and more. Joining the book club is complimentary—you just have to get a copy of the book to enjoy.
