Student Photography Exhibit on View in Power Art Center Gallery Through April 4

A selection of photographs by 10 William Paterson University art students are on view in the Power Art Center Gallery at William Paterson University in Wayne.

The exhibition, Telling Stories, was curated by Robin Schwartz, professor of photography. It features 20 large prints taken by students in three photography course levels: Photography I, Photography II, and Advanced Photography.

“It is important for students to begin to tell their own stories, to realize their own personal world and what is interesting and unique to their identity. Most often, personal stories are universally relatable,” says Schwartz. “My job as a teacher is to help each student discover what they care about. What they care about may connect them to who they are and the path they might take. I am very proud to have curated the photographs of this group of students whom I have taught over the last two years.”

The students whose works are on view also represent a broad range of disciplines within the art major. They include:

Photography I: Wolanssa Adera, Ayanna Furlow, David Lopez, Catherine Thurston, and Katrina Van Grouw

Photography II: Lauren Fowler-Calisto and Taylor Rivera

Advanced Photography: Raymond Columna, Allison Muscaro, and Rael Palao

The exhibition is on view through Tuesday, April 4, in the Power Art Center Gallery located at 25 Power Ave, Wayne, New Jersey.
