Carmine Coscia, a May 2025 graduate of William Paterson University with a bachelor of science degree in finance technology and a minor in computer information systems, summa cum laude, was named the 2025 “Outstanding Senior” by the William Paterson University Alumni Association.
Presented annually since 1962, the “Outstanding Senior” award recognizes a graduating senior with strong involvement in extracurricular activities, service to the University and community, demonstrated leadership ability, and high academic standing. It is the highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association. The award was announced at the Senior Send-Off celebration on May 14 where Domenico DiMaio ’97, MBA ‘21, president of the Alumni Association, recognized all of the nominees and announced the recipient.
Coscia received multiple nominations for the award, which cited him for his academic achievement, leadership, service to the university, and commitment to professional development. A member of the University’s Honors College, Coscia completed the Business Honors Track, for which he wrote an honors thesis focused on the development of a comprehensive business plan for a B2B chemical industry startup. He was the recipient of the New Trustee Scholarship and the Honors College Scholarship.
A dean’s list student throughout his university career, Coscia served as president of the Student Investment Club, vice president of the Data Analytics and Science Club and treasurer for the Honors College Club. He also was a mentee in the University’s Pesce Family Mentoring Institute, which individually matches students with a mentor who can offer them career advice and guidance, and was involved in numerous community service activities, including the MLK Day of Service, Rise Against Hunger, and the University’s Pioneer Pantry.
Coscia served for three years as a technical consultant in the Global Business and Finance Institute in the University’s Cotsakos College of Business, where he worked with students and faculty to provide training in business-related software programs.
Following his graduation from William Paterson, Coscia plans to begin a full-time position at PwC, where he was an intern in digital assurance and transparency. He is a resident of North Haledon.
