Enrollment Steps-Freshmen

Congratulations on your acceptance to William Paterson University! You are one step closer to becoming a member of our campus community. Please familiarize yourself with the following steps to complete your enrollment for the upcoming semester.

Please note that you will need your WPUNJ Student ID number to use the online forms as your username - click here to look up your ID.  Your PIN/Password is your date of birth in MMDDYY format (for example, March 17, 1999 would be 031799).

Step 1:

Officially become a Pioneer by submitting your non-refundable, non-transferable $125 enrollment deposit.

Go to our Deposit Portal.
Login: Your WPUNJ email address (WITHOUT the @ part)
Password: Your Student ID
Select your term and then choose either “Fall Enrollment Deposit - CC” or “Fall Enrollment Dep–E-check”

Apply for University housing if applicable, using the Housing Application.

Use the same login and password as above.

Residence Life will notify you via email within one business week informing you that your application is accepted or if they need additional information. If your Housing Application is accepted and in order to be eligible to receive a housing assignment, your next step is to submit the non-refundable, non-transferable $150 housing deposit.

Go back to the Deposit Portal. Use the same login and password from Step 1 above.

Select your term and then choose “Housing Sec Dep”

Step 2:

Apply for financial aid. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). William Paterson’s code – 002625.

Step 3:

Go to WPConnect and check your email. Login to your WPConnect account to stay on track and activate your student email. Your Username is your WPUNJ Email address (without the @ part) and your Password is your Student ID.

Step 4:

Take your placement exam. After you pay your $125 enrollment fee you will be contacted by the Office of Testing in regards to your placement exam.

Step 5:

Learn about New Student Orientation. Once your enrollment deposit is received and you complete your placement exam, you will be invited to sign up for an orientation program. 

Step 6:

Visit your Student Health Portal. Submit required immunization forms.

Step 7:

Review medical insurance requirements. Students are required by state law to have appropriate medical insurance. As a full-time student, you are automatically enrolled in Aetna Student Health. The plan is billed annually (or pro-rated for spring admits) to your student account. Review plan information, cost, and waiver instructions.

Step 8:

Final Transcripts. Submit your final high school transcript, college-level coursework transcript(s), and AP score reports.
