Solar

THE MYSTERIES and perceived power of the sun stretch back to the dawn of man, and have fascinated everyone from the ancient Egyptians to the eccentric genius Nikola Tesla.

The nation’s energy needs will continue to grow more complex over time. As we continue to transition away from fossil fuels and venture further into the realm of more renewable, sustainable energy, public institutions will need to be a part of the conversation and leaders in classrooms and laboratories, by installing one of the largest solar arrays in New Jersey, William Paterson University has shown itself to be one of those leaders.

The Solar Farm powers the university with 3 megawatts of energy and consist of solar arrays in the campus parking lots and on the rooftops of our buildings.

WPU has long been committed to energy conservation and to good environmental stewardship.
