Dr. Figen Suchanek: My name is Dr. Figen Suchanek and I am a tutor at the SEC, where I help students with chemistry, physics, environmental science, and some math courses. My undergraduate, master and Ph.D. degrees are in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on Environmental Engineering and Chemistry. I am currently a graduate assistant at SEC while pursuing my second master’s degree in Materials Chemistry. In addition, I teach General Chemistry I, II, and Chemistry of Cuisine Labs. I look forward to meeting you and helping you better master your courses!
Dr. Donna Rennar-Potacco: Dear Learner, My background is in science education, research, and management. I have a doctorate in distance education and instructional technology, MS in biochemistry, MBA, and BS in chemistry. I have also taught and tutored many years in the disciplines of Physiology (AP, Human Biology, Applied AP), Kinesiology, and Mathematics. Most of my research has been in the areas of mentoring, online and face-to-face tutoring, and technology. My management background has been at the university and in two top 500 corporations. I look forward to using what I learned in these fields to help you reach your goals. Toward this end, my methods include helping students develop the skill sets they need to be successful in their course(s) and profession and making learning as fun as possible.
I have also extensive experience as an Academic Mentor for the WPU Science Enrichment Center, and have worked with students in the following courses: Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, Human Adaptive Physiology, Biological Psychology, Psychopharmacology, Microbiology, Genetics, Coevolution of Humans and Pathogens, Archaeology, Sociology, Time Management and Stress Reduction skills.
