INFORMATION FOR
Accelerated 4+1 BS/MS Biology:Biotechnology
Students in the BS Biology program who have a 3.0 or higher GPA in both the major and overall can enter the accelerated 4+1 BS/MS Biology:Biotechnology program as late as the middle of their junior year (before registration for senior courses). If a transfer student enters the BS Biology program during or at the end of their junior year the GPA from their previous institution(s) will be used to determine eligibility.
As seniors, students in the program are required to take three graduate level BIO courses: Molecular Biology (BIO5240; 3cr), and two of the following three courses: Recombinant DNA Technology (BIO5300; 4cr), Cell and Tissue Culture (BIO5310; 4cr), and Genomics and Bioinformatics (BIO5340; 4cr). Students may take a fourth graduate level BIO course, which will only count toward the MS degree.
