Honors College in High Mountain East First year students accepted into William Paterson's Honors College Program are considered as first preference for assignment in our High Mountain East residence hall. Residents may choose to room with another Honors College student, or the resident may request another student. However, the individual not in the program, must submit a housing contract and housing deposit early to be considered for this residence community. Questions regarding this residence may be directed to the Residence Life Office, athome@wpunj.edu. Substance Free Community Residence Life can accommodate a limited number of freshmen through seniors in a substance-free residential experience on a smaller wing in Century Hall. Students who choose to live in this residence community complete an application requesting assignment and sign the written agreement for living a healthy, substance-free lifestyle. Complete the Substance-Free Housing application and agreement and return a scanned, signed copy to the Residence Life Office athome@wpunj.edu. Questions regarding this residence may be directed to the Residence Life Office, athome@wpunj.edu. Gender Inclusive Housing William Paterson University seeks to provide a living environment welcoming to all gender identities; one not limited by the traditional gender binary. Gender Inclusive Housing is available to students of legal age (18 years or older) and allows for same-gender or other-gender identities to live together regardless of assigned gender at birth. This provides a living/learning environment where residents can support and explore gender identity and expression in a comfortable and supportive environment. Gender Inclusive Housing participants must commit to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming living environment free of discrimination. Each resident accepted to live in Gender Inclusive Housing must agree to the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement, and will have responsibility to develop and uphold the terms for the community which are in congruence with valuing all persons and seeking to learn from their diverse experiences and perspectives. Currently, most applicants applying to the Gender Inclusive community would be assigned to Hillside Hall, although requests for other residence halls will be considered. Gender Inclusive Applications are available as a part of the housing application and preference process in ResCenter. Questions regarding this special interest housing community may be directed to the Residence Life Office, athome@wpunj.edu.
