High Mountain East and West house first year students. All students are assigned to double occupancy rooms, unless they have been approved for a single accommodation from the Accessibility Resource Center. All rooms are suite-style, which means that the two rooms are joined by a bathroom. All rooms are air conditioned and are centered around common area lounges, which are all equipped for wireless access. The buildings are smoke free. No smoking is permitted in suites, hallways, and common areas, and there are smoke detectors and fire prevention sprinklers in every room. Free laundry machines are available to students in each community and vending machines can also be found in the common area on the first floor in High Mountain East and the ground floor in High Mountain West. High Mountain East houses first year honors students who can choose to live with other honors students or any other first year student in a shared suite.
